Oriente Occidente Dance Festival

46th edition of Oriente Occidente

A programme of performances and talks with artists and theatre companies from different countries held across the city’s theatres, gardens, museums, and squares.

The 46th edition of the Oriente Occidente Dance Festival brings the city of Rovereto to life from September 3rd to 12th, 2026, continuing the three-year journey inaugurated in 2025 and dedicated to a human perspective that puts bodies at the center: in their less represented narratives, in less visible spaces, and in the most multifaceted that traverse them.

With a preview on September 2nd, over 45 events, 15 companies, seven debuts, five national premieres, workshops and pop-up performances inside museums.

The second chapter of Corpi Assenti shifts the focus from the concept of “absence” to that of “emptiness.” Not as a lack, but rather as a condition of the possible. “Emptiness” is the interval that allows an encounter, the transitional time between what was and what will be, the silence that permits music, the space that gives dance room to exist.
Through shows, performances, meetings, and dialogues, Oriente Occidente confirms itself as a space of culture, where expression and debate find fertile ground, and where it is possible to multiply visions and build community.

The program unfolds across various spaces and locations in Rovereto, from the Zandonai Theatre to MART, extending to the city centre and the Urban Center, involving both iconic landmarks and unexpected settings. There is also a double event at MUSE in Trento. Alongside these, a brand-new space takes shape for the 46th Oriente Occidente: an arena inside the covered gallery overlooking the Leno river, located in the new production spaces of Progetto Manifattura.

RITMO!

From June 10th to 17th, Oriente Occidente activates RITMO! an ‘early bird’ formula designed to encourage broad, shared, and continuous participation in the Festival program.

The proposal includes the advance online purchase of discounted ticket packages for the Festival’s main venues (Progetto Manifattura + Teatro Zandonai), designed to offer flexibility regarding the choice of shows and audience composition.

Starting June 18th it will no longer be possible to purchase the RITMO! formula. Instead, online ticket sales for individual shows at all locations will open at full price on the website orienteoccidente.it.

Accessibility and sustainability

Oriente Occidente promotes initiatives intertwining accessibility and sustainability. As a result it has implemented, over the years, a tangible system of actions to compensate and reduce the impact on the environment. Among other things, the entire initiative strictly employs energy produced from renewable, certified sources (100% Energia Pulita Dolomiti Energia), main partner of sustainability. Such commitment is officially recognized by the “Eco Eventi del Trentino” sustainability label, awarded to the Festival in 2019 for its ecological commitment (find out more).
