In the hamlet of Carpeneda, lying in a south-easterly direction, is the church of San Valentino, which, according to tradition, was erected on the site of a previous shrine to honour the saint. It was built by a peasant as a votive offering to thank Saint Valentine for protecting his two oxen from falling off a nearby cliff.

The simple gabled façade is preceded by a rectangular portico, supported by two stone pillars and covered by a cross-gabled roof, while the bell tower rises on the left side.

Frescoes dating from 1568 and 1637 cover the upper half of the walls as well as the vaults of the presbytery and apse.

The church cannot be freely visited. You can organise guided tours for groups, by calling the following telephone number: 0464721108
