INNAUS local culture and language experience
A place dedicated to discovering the Mòchena language, the history of the valley and the deep bond between community and territory.
The name INNAUS recalls the movement between "inside" and "outside": on the one hand the identity, language and stories of the Mòcheno community, on the other the openness to dialogue with the world, cultures and relationships that have crossed the valley over time.
The route is divided into two complementary spaces. The first introduces the visitor to the Valley of the Mòcheni through images, sounds, testimonies and artistic installations that tell the landscape, daily life and the transformations of the community. The second, housed in a traditional blockbau construction, is dedicated to the mòchena language and the theme of languages as meeting tools, offering an interactive experience on the value of plurilingualism and linguistic minorities.
INNAUS is part of the Ark of Languages, a project promoted by the Mòcheno Cultural Institute that was created to preserve and enhance the Mòcheno language and culture, transforming them into a key to interpreting the territory. Through exhibition spaces, routes and activities, the Ark of Languages invites you to discover the Valle dei Mòcheni as a place where landscape, memory, community and language continue to dialogue with other cultures and other linguistic minorities.
