This museum is the ideal place to learn about the history of Val di Non, from prehistory to the Early Middle Ages, thanks to the “Pozzo del tempo” (well of time) itinerary, multi-media resources and educational workshops.

From Palaeolithic hunter-gatherers to the first Neolithic farmers and Copper-Age metal-workers, as well as Bronze-Age places of worship: the Rhaetic Museum in Sanzeno explores the history of Val di Non in its entirety, from prehistory to the Early Middle Ages. Excavations have allowed the past millennia to be reconstructed down to the smallest detail. The stars are the Rhaetian people who lived in Trentino and Tyrol before the Romans, whose ethnic origins are uncertain: Pliny believed them to be descendants of the Etruscans, but a link with the Celts is also clear. Their magnificent artwork, religious artefacts and work tools are on display in this museum, which shines a spotlight on the rich local archaeological heritage.
