The museum of milestones and bollards #1

The Bollard Museum (Museo del paracarro) is located at the beginning of the cycling path that leads from Canezza to Palù del Fersina.

Without a doubt, this museum is one of the most original in the entire region. Brainchild of Dario Pegoretti, it collects numerous roadside stones and milestones from all over the world (with a special focus on the Trentino region, of course).

The idea was born when Pegoretti—a cycling enthusiast and former road technician in Trentino—noticed these stones piled up in a depot because they were no longer up to standard. Realizing they came from roads that had shaped the history of cycling, he wanted to pay tribute to them.

In fact, each stone is dedicated to a cycling champion via a small plaque, taking visitors back to the eras of the sport's legendary feats.
