One of the oldest and largest gardens in the Alps, with a collection that boasts around 2,000 species of high-altitude plants, many of them at risk of extinction.

At an altitude of 1,500 metres, this site is more of an outdoor museum than a garden. It is home to thousands of Alpine species, including medicinal and extremely rare plants, many of them nearing extinction and all with the eye-catching beauty typical of the mountains.

The Alpine Botanical Garden, nestled in the valley of Viote del Monte Bondone, is one of the Science Museum’s territorial outposts. It is a living capsule of biodiversity and an unmissable attraction for anyone with a passion for botany. In fact, the botanical garden is one of the oldest and largest in the Alps, boasting a collection of around 2,000 plant species within its ten hectares: a priceless treasure, scattered across stony flowerbeds, lakes, bogs, wildflower meadows and woods.
