At Malga Negritella, along the Italian-Austrian defensive lines
At Malga Negritella, at the foot of the Juribrutto and Bocche peaks, in the San Pellegrino Valley, you can take a break and reflect on the pursuit of peace and beauty.
A hike for everyone in a spectacular setting that, at times, blends the lush colors of San Pellegrino Pass with the black and white of those who fought to defend its borders. The route passes through the "Fango" area, where the second line of the Austrian defence was built during World War I. It consisted of trenches, bases for the heavy artillery salvaged from the Fort of Someda, and reinforced shelters. From here, a dense network of paths and cable cars branched out, connecting the positions along the ridge of Costabella and the Bocche chain. At "Fango", two restored and accessible sites can be visited: trench field A and field B in the forest. At Malga Negritella, you can take your time to rest or enjoy dishes from Ladin and Val di Fassa culture.
