FRANCOLINI 1
Francolini 1
The Francolini 1 route is an itinerary dedicated to ski mountaineering on predominantly open terrain, designed to offer a logical, varied, and safe ascent, with clear and continuous references.

From the parking lot located below the old starting station of the disused chairlift, ascend keeping to the left (explanatory signs of the routes). After a few meters, take the marked trail that enters the small valley and follows the stream, following the path indications. Unlike Francolini 2, here you do not cross the stream, but ascend it staying in the valley floor, passing near the aqueduct.

The trail then leads to a wide plateau opening to the right: ascend gently towards Malga Fontanelle, which are left on the right, continuing towards the Francolini ski slope. Upon reaching the slope, continue along the edge of the forest, without entering it, always maintaining a neat and clear ascent line.

Near the line of the new lift (cable car), intercept the valley below, which is ascended with some changes in direction until it rejoins the slope at its upper part. From here, continue along the edge of the forest until reaching Malga / Refuge Stella d’Italia, the endpoint of the itinerary.

The route is marked, with generally moderate gradients, and is suitable for those seeking a regular, well-marked, and consistent ascent, ideal both for training and for a progressive approach to ski mountaineering in the Francolini area.
