In Vigo, in the scattered village of the "patins"

Vigo is a scattered village. It shares the beauty, history, and culture that have made it one of the most beautiful villages in Italy with its six inhabited centres, including Costa and Larcioné.

A sunny excursion towards the Catinaccio, the garden of King Laurin. The peculiarity of Vigo is that it was not fortified, but grew in small scattered hamlets, rich in historical, artistic, and religious places of interest, which can only be visited by walking. Vigo was the political and religious capital of the valley, blessed by the magnificent church of Santa Giuliana. Its bell tower was the only one spared during the Great War due to the value it represented not only in Fassa but also for the surrounding territories. The sun lasts longer here. This is also why, despite being part of a totally poor mountain peasant economy, its inhabitants were called the "patins da Vich." The greater exposure to heat and light allowed them to have more generous crops, mainly rye and barley, and more abundant meals for their animals.
