By spending the night at the welcoming Maddalene Refuge, it is possible to split the excursion over two days to fully and calmly enjoy the panoramas and environments you cross.Roadbook
From Lanza, follow the paved road marked with number 113 by car until you reach the locality "Pont da Vat", where you park near the no-parking sign. Continue along this road with trail marker 113 that crosses the stream and climbs with a sometimes steep slope the 700 meters of elevation gain leading to the Maddalene Refuge. Just before the Malga, the panorama opens up and you can spot the majestic Cima Lavazzè and the ridge of the wild Cima degli Olmi.
After a well-deserved break, continue now to the right towards the north on trail marker 133, which climbs the slope to a saddle serving as a watershed with South Tyrol and from where you overlook the entire Val di Non; from here, Monte Roen and Lake Santa Giustina are clearly recognizable. Now descend always on trail marker 133 towards the wide Brez pass, passing at the foothills of Cima Lavazzè and Goldlahnspitz. At this point, the itinerary crosses gently a series of soft alpine meadows enriched by small wild ponds.
Once you reach the Brez Pass, paying attention to the clear signage on poles and stones, descend to the left on trail marker 19B which leads to Maritscherbergalm, then ascend trail 19 which, with a steady slope, takes you to Passo Termen. One last look at the unmatched panorama before descending on trail marker 113 to the Maddalene Refuge to refresh yourself and regain strength. One last effort to retrace the dirt road descended earlier and find yourself back at your car.
