Author’s recommendation
Both Lauregno and Castrin alpine huts are well exposed to the sun and are open on winter weekends. Here you will find large swings and gentle slopes for sledding, making them popular with children too!

Roadbook
From the large parking lot before the second tunnel, take forest road no. 28 which has signs for Malga di Lauregno / Laureinalm. Follow the forest road with its ups and downs, ignoring paths that cut through the woods to reach the hut.
Upon reaching the hut, continue on path 114-26 heading north which starts from the hill behind the hut and mostly runs flat through the woods until reaching forest road 157, which climbs from Castelfondo and heads towards Malga Castrin.
Now follow the forest road to the left, which with a gentle ascent leads to the charming Malga Castrin.
After a well-deserved break and a tasty snack, follow the path that crosses the large meadow of Monte Sous before descending back to the parking lot.
