SAT / E217 - Ancino Path - Centa Valley - Lavarone
A rather challenging route that starts from the deep Centa valley and climbs the steep right orographic side of it, up to the Lavarone terrace, at the village of Chiesa. It is demanding but rewarding for the beauty of the places it crosses.
Information about the 'Via del Lancino' dates back to 1192, as an important route connecting the upper Valsugana and Alpe Cimbra, as well as between the Principality of Trento and Vicenza. It was also called the "Imperial Way". It was nearly abandoned following the construction of the "Strada della Val Caréta", initially called "New Road of Lanzino". The mule track is reduced to a narrow path in several sections. Attention is recommended at the stream ford in case of floods. The view of the waterfalls of Valimpach, the emissary of Lake Lavarone, is spectacular.
