The Musil literary trail | Palù mine and mountains
A picturesque loop trail through the Erdemolo Mine, the woods, and the mountain pastures overlooking Palù del Fersina, following in the footsteps of the landscapes described by Robert Musil during his stay in the Mòcheni Valley.
The “Palù Mines and Mountains” trail is a loop hiking route that takes you on a journey of discovery through the mountain environment and mining heritage of Palù del Fersina. <p>Starting from the village of Vròttn, the trail reaches the historic Erdemolo Mine (Gruab va Hardimbl), one of the most significant remnants of the ancient mining activity in the Mòcheni Valley. From here, the trail continues at higher elevations through forests and mountain pastures until it reaches the mountain hut in the village of Indertol, offering sweeping views of the surrounding alpine landscape.</p> <p>The route is approximately 7.1 km long with a total elevation gain of 650 meters and takes an average of 3 hours and 30 minutes to complete. Along the way, you can immerse yourself in the same natural surroundings that, at the beginning of the 20th century, captivated the writer Robert Musil during his stay in Palù del Fersina.</p> <p>This hike combines nature, history, and culture, making it ideal for those who wish to discover some of the most authentic corners of the Mòcheni Valley.</p>
