Val Orsara Loop
A true treasure chest of Alpine nature, jewel of the Alpe Cimbra. Here the beauty of the landscape combines with the integrity of nature, with the ancient silvo-pastoral activity of the Alpe, with the typical mountain dishes served by Agritur Malga Vallorsara.
The name recalls the presence of bears, now a thing of the past. However, it tells us that this valley was once wild, frequented by hunters, shepherds and dairy farmers who brought (and still bring) cows here to pasture. The beauty lies in the pastures, coniferous forests and the expansiveness of the landscape that opens from the upper part of the valley hollow. To the north the unmistakable mountain profiles of Cornetto di Folgaria, Bècco di Filadonna and the Dolomite group of Brenta stand out. The excursion reaches its highest point at the so-called Bocca di Val Orsara, a kind of pass that leads to the Coe plateau. During the Great War the first Austro-Hungarian line passed through here.
