Vallelaghi - The Geological Path
A route discovering glacial potholes, ruins, and ancient terraces, in a landscape shaped by human activity and the power of nature.
The route starts in the town of Vezzano, on the northwestern slopes of Monte Bondone. A path connects the many glacial potholes, called “giants’ kettles,” which were carved by the waters that flowed under ancient glaciers in the rocks. Some of these potholes have been emptied of the materials that had gradually obstructed them over the centuries, revealing the rocky skeleton more than ten meters deep.
