Walk to the Polsa Pond

Easy walk from Polsa to the biotope of its small lake

The Polsa pond stands out for its great botanical importance, thanks to the presence of rare or uncommon plant species in the Trentino region. It is an area of particular naturalistic value that deserves attention and protection.

However, the balance of this environment is fragile and subject to several threats. One of the main ones is the natural evolution of the surrounding vegetation: shrubs and trees are progressively advancing, reducing the meadow space. Additionally, the water reed is rapidly expanding and risks suffocating the more delicate species, altering the biodiversity of the area.

Among the most precious inhabitants of this habitat is the yellow-bellied toad, a small amphibian protected at the European level. Its presence makes the conservation of this area even more important, requiring specific measures to ensure its survival over time.
