I Suoni delle Dolomiti | Alash Ensemble
The songs of Central Asia resonate in Val di Fiemme
The towers of Latemar will frame the highly anticipated concert of Alash, masters of Tuvan throat singing (xöömei), an ancient vocal technique that allows for the production of multiple tones simultaneously. Growing up in the musical tradition of Tuva, a region in Central Asia that now belongs to the Russian Federation, Alash formed in the late 1990s at the Kyzyl Arts College. Alash combines the cultural heritage of their land with contemporary influences and instruments in tune with global music trends, evolving in their quest while never abandoning their roots.
In 2006, they were invited by the Open World program of the Library of Congress in the United States and subsequently embarked on international tours and collaborations that span from jazz to beatboxing. In addition to concerts, they promote workshops and educational activities to bring the culture and singing of Tuva to the world.
The concert venue, at 2100 m altitude in the heart of Val di Fiemme, is accessible via the Agnello cable car from Pampeago.
In case of bad weather, the concert will take place at 5:30 PM at the theater of the Casa della Gioventù in Predazzo.
