Rifugio Altissimo Damiano Chiesa (Garda)
The Damiano Chiesa refuge dominates the entire northern part of Lake Garda from the top of Monte Altissimo (at an altitude of 2059 metres, in the Monte Baldo group), with a breathtaking 360-degree view of the surrounding peaks. During the First World War, Monte Altissimo was an Italian front line and still bears numerous signs of trenches, buildings and walkways, some of which are also visible around the refuge. Due to its location and history, the Damiano Chiesa refuge is one of the favourite destinations for trekking in Garda Trentino.
The family management will offer you the opportunity to taste not only the typical dishes but also the beauty of the surrounding landscape! Reservations are accepted for evening dinners, anniversaries and any overnight stays.
Opening: from early May to mid-October every day, then on weekends in good weather. Check the opening on the site or on FB, and from 26 to 06 December if good weather every day (to be checked on FB or site).
High dish: Unique dish of the Most High (canederli with melted butter and sage, polenta and goulash and Malga del Baldo cheese)
