Getting here by train

Arriving in Trentino by train is a convenient option as it avoids worrying about motorway traffic conditions or snow related issues in winter

The main towns of the province, Trento and Rovereto, are reached by Italian and European long-distance trains and both stations are close to their respective town centres. From these stations you can reach other resorts using the provincial transport network (see "Travelling in Trentino") offering local train and bus services that reach all the towns in the province.

At Christmas, special trains are available to reach the traditional Christmas markets.

Skiers can also reach the ski slopes by train: the new ski-lift facilities of Folgarida and Marilleva are perfectly integrated to the train network. Dolomiti Express, an innovative "bus - train - cable car" system will take you in only 12 minutes directly from the centre of the Val di Sole to the heart of the Folgarida - Marilleva - Madonna di Campiglio ski area.

The train can also be a quick and relaxing part of your journey to Trentino. For example, from Verona airport it’s a short shuttle-bus journey to Verona Porta Nuova station, and from there Trento is only 40 minutes by train.
