Sunshine and jazz in the snow for nine days of rhythm and fun
WINTER 2022 From 5 to 13 March 2022 the sunny terraces of the Val di Fiemme and Val di Fassa mountain huts will become extraordinary open-air concert venues, together with the theatres, churches and pubs in these two Italian Alp valleys. This is Dolomiti Ski Jazz, the music festival that brings the cool rhythms of hot jazz to the mountains, for nine days of jam sessions, snow and fun.
Among the most anticipated artists at the festival is Dameronia’s Legacy, appearing for the first time in Italy, a famous octet made up of exceptional jazz soloists from New York and Europe. They will perform on the evening of 5 March at the Palafiemme Auditorium in Cavalese.
Heidi Vogel will also perform (6 March at 2:00 p.m. at Rifugio Fuciade), one of the most impressive voices on the British music scene. Heidi will be accompanied on the guitar by Luca Boscagin, an Italian musician living in England.
Concert venues
The 24th Dolomiti Ski Jazz Festival increases the number of stages and its audiences among the scenic vistas of the Italian Alps in Trentino under the artistic direction of Enrico Tommasini.
Eight jazz concerts in eight mountain huts:
- Rifugio Passo Feudo (Predazzo);
- Rifugio Fuciade (Passo San Pellegrino);
- Rifugio Zischgalm (Ski Center Latemar Pampeago);
- Chalet Caserina (Ski Center Latemar - Pampeago);
- Rifugio Friedrich August (Col Rodella - Campitello);
- Rifugio Baita Tonda (Alpe Cermis - Cavalese);
- Chalet Valbona (Alpe Lusia - Moena);
- Rifugio Ciampedie-Catinaccio (Vigo di Fassa).
The following venues have been chosen for the 8 evening concerts: the Palafiemme (Cavalese), Club La Grenz (Moena), Ladin de Fascia Museum (San Giovanni di Fassa - Sèn Jan), the parish church of Pera di Fassa, the Marmolada Theatre (Canazei), the Navalge Theatre (Moena), the Tesero Municipal Theatre and the Predazzo Municipal Theatre.
