Current Information
Athabaska is a project born from Maurizio Cattafesta's love for animals, the result of over 20 years of work with sled dogs and with llamas and alpacas.
Today, Athabaska, in addition to being a B&B, is also a farm, with over 100 animals, including a breeding of Alaskan Huskies, more than 15 camelids between llamas and alpacas, animals with which we carry out trekking activities and from which we use the wool, Rendena and Highland breed cows, pigs including some Thai breed specimens (pot-bellied), chickens, Indian Runner ducks, and Angiolino, the camel that recently joined our business.
We are located in the charm of Deggia, a remote hamlet of San Lorenzo in Banale, among the most beautiful villages in Italy, on the ancient Roman road that connected Trento with the Paganella plateau, along the San Vili Path. A sunny and mild basin, between the Brenta Dolomites and the lakes of Molveno and Nembia.
Recently restored, the agriturismo is a stone and wood farmhouse surrounded by meadows and woods, where you can stay overnight, taste our homemade products, such as cured meats, cheeses, and garden produce, visit our farm and practice trekking with llamas and alpacas.
