PROGRAM
June 26th:
- 7.00 pm: Cerdd Npt Music School
Cerdd NPT Music is the Music Service for all schools in Neath Port Talbot, South Wales. The area is traditionally known as an industrial area predominantly for the Steel and Coal Industries. The ensemles will consist of students from all nine of our Secondary Schools. Performing at Lake Garda we have our Cerdd NPT Music Youth Choir, Youth Brass Band and Youth Orchestra. The pupils are aged 11 to 18 years old.
- 8.30 pm: The British School of Brussels Senior Choir
The BSB was founded in 1970, and music has always been an important part of school life for its students. There are several choirs, ensembles and orchestras in the school, and we have a busy music programme, with lots of concerts and events throughout the year. The Senior Choir – was established back in 2006 when Christi-Ann Nancarrow arrived in the school as Director of Music. It has continued ever since, with many of its members changing every year, due to the international nature of the school. The choir currently comprises some talented musicians: many of whom are also academic music students who compose music, play an instrument to a high level as soloists and in orchestra or band, as well as singing in the choir.
July 4th:
- 8.30 pm: Worth School
Worth School is a co-educational day and boarding school for students aged 11-18 set in 500 acres of beautiful countryside in Sussex, England. The school is well known for the high standard of its music provision and its choirs and orchestras tour biennially internationally, as well as performing at venues in the UK throughout the year. Worth’s Schola Cantorum has a long tradition of excellence, and its alumni include former members of the National Youth Choir of Great Britain and the Sistine Chapel Choir. The choir performs regularly in Worth Abbey and this year has sung for services at Westminster Cathedral and Chichester Cathedral. Worth’s instrumental groups including the Jazz Orchestra and Symphony Orchestra include students at an advanced level on their instrument. This year’s Summer Ensembles’ tour to Italy is the culmination of the year’s ensemble music for the school’s musicians. The choir, jazz orchestra, and orchestra will be performing on tour.
July 21st:
- 8.30 pm: City Academy Hackney
City Academy Hackney is a large co-educational secondary school located in the vibrant heart of Hackney, London. Our music department is a dynamic and inclusive hub where students are inspired to explore, create, and thrive through the transformative power of music. Tonight’s concert features a lively mix of choral and instrumental performances, with an eclectic blend of popular classics and jazz. Highlights include timeless pieces by Tina Turner, The Beach Boys, Duke Ellington, Charles Mingus, Amy Winehouse, and John Lennon. And keep your ears open — we might surprise you with an Italian tune! We hope you enjoy the energy, passion, and joy brought to the stage by our talented students from Year 7 to Year 13.
