Concert of Moena’s municipal band
The brass band of Moena will perform, in a pleasant and cheerful repertoire, in front of the small church of San Lazzaro, in the pretty hamlet of "Forno"
The municipal band of Moena has been part of village life since the mid-19th century, becoming an essential part of every festival, religious celebration and civil holiday. A symbolic moment in its history dates back to 1858, when it was asked to perform officially during the visit of Archduke Charles Louis of Austria to Cavalese. It was then that the idea of performing in uniform was born, inaugurating a visual identity - red, white and blue - that still distinguishes it today. After the inevitable interruptions during the First and Second World Wars, the band returned to playing with renewed enthusiasm, thanks in part to the guidance of Maestro Luigi Canori, a well-known composer from Moena. He composed "Forti e baldi", the piece that opens the summer concerts with its proud and rousing spirit.
In collaboration with the "Il Pentagramma" music school, the band promotes courses for children and adults to pass on a love of music and introduce new generations to band playing. It is precisely this ability to bring together different ages, experiences and personal stories that makes it one of the most authentic expressions of Moena's identity: a lively, dynamic reality that is always ready to take on new musical challenges under the expert and charismatic guidance of bandmaster Roberto Silvagni, who has been conducting the group since 2020.
Crossed by the "Valsorda" stream that descends from the Latemar group, it is one of the most populated hamlets of Moena, from which it is about 4 km away, and has a mining past.
The concert is free. In case of rain, the concert will be held at the "Navalge" theatre.
