DoloMyth Runs 12K Trail
The big celebration of the Italian trail running season begins with the DoloMyths Run 12K Junior, an epic "only up" challenge over 12 km of spectacular Dolomite walls, from Canazei to the Fedaia Pass!
On 12 and 13 July, Canazei will transform into the ultimate destination for trail running with the DoloMyths Run! Now in its 27th edition, this legendary race is the third event of the GTNS - Golden Trail National Series powered by Salomon, the most prestigious off-road racing circuit in Italy. Over 1,300 athletes from around the world will compete across three challenging distances, all starting from Canazei. Kicking off the weekend at 06:45, the DoloMyths Run 12K Junior - the shorter version of the DoloMyths Run 42K Fassa Trail - features 12 km, 800 m of elevation gain, and a 3-hour time limit to reach the finish line.
After the start, runners will embark on a spectacular route, traversing some of the most breathtaking landscapes of the Dolomites. From Canazei through Alba, Penìa, and Pian Trevisan, they will reach the historic Austro-Hungarian military mule track, carved into the rock by Russian prisoners during the First World War. Crossing dense forests, the legendary "Ciamorciaa" glacial potholes, and the "Col de Baranchie", they will then tackle the imposing slopes of the Marmolada. And the grand finale? A spectacular finish on the shores of the majestic Lake Fedaia! In 2024, Samuel Demetz of the Team Next Gen from Salomon Italy and Elisa Cavallo took the crown.
