Performance is the second stage of the three-year exhibition project "Rings of conjunction", created by the Fondazione Museo storico del Trentino and the Autonomous Province of Trento in collaboration with the Fondazione Milano Cortina 2026 and the prestigious cultural partnership of the Olympic Museum.
In 1896 Pierre De Coubertin promoted the first edition of the Olympics in Athens.
Since then, PERFORMANCE has steadily increased in every discipline and dozens of records have been broken, overcoming once unimaginable performance frontiers. How did this happen?
In the over 280 meters of the Galleria Nera for about 2,800 square meters of exhibition space, Performance wants to answer this question.
At the centre of the exhibition are 7 stories of innovation:
- Sidecut Skis – Skiing
- The Nynsen Story
- Slalom Gates – The Jointed Pole
- Snow Grooming – The beat of the slopes
- Bobsled Technology
- Prostheses for Runners – Running Prostheses
- Running Tracks
Also on display is a section dedicated to teleconferences as a sport narration tool (where, thanks to the collaboration with RAI-Teche – Rome, some of the most beautiful Olympic teleconferences of recent decades are visible).
Last but not least, great attention was paid to the issue of the involvement, through play and interaction, of boys and girls (as well as adults who wanted to put themselves to the test).
The experiential workstations that allow you to learn while having fun are doubled and enlarged compared to the first RECORDS edition. Here they are:
Interactive wall A tool used within digital gyms enters the Galleries. Between targets to hit and doors in which to score goals, there are many challenges that can be faced individually, in pairs or in teams.
Downhill VR It's enough to wear a visor to start an exciting descent on skis: the more points you can get, the more you progress in the history of skiing, with a lot of evolution in equipment and clothing.
Ski simulator A fun way to test yourself with the movements of alpine skiing...who will be the new champion of the Galleries?
VR Quiz Here too you wear a headset, but this time the descent is on a sled. Not only that, questions about the Olympic and winter paralytic disciplines will appear along the way and you will have to enter the door with the correct answer!
