Val di Fassa Running - 2nd stage
Second stage of Val di Fassa Running: starting from Vigo, 10 km along the Ciampedie hillside
Val di Fassa Running returns to the 2026 sporting calendar with its well-established stage race format, organised by Val di Fassa Grandi Eventi: five stages, each between 6 and 12 km long, a different location every day, for a total of around 45 km of fast sections, runnable descents and climbs that test both legs and determination. From 21 to 26 June, runners take on spectacular courses that cross some of the most iconic landscapes of the valley.
After the evening opener in Canazei, Val di Fassa Running shifts up a gear: these are the stages that begin to shape the overall men's and women's standings. This is where runners start positioning themselves, managing their energy and understanding what kind of week lies ahead. Monday kicks off in Vigo di Fassa. The second stage covers 10.1 km with 329 metres of elevation gain, tracing a scenic hillside route beneath Ciampedie. You leave the village, run high above the valley floor, reach Pozza and Pera from above, and then loop back to Vigo. It's a stage that demands both rhythm and focus: climbs to pace carefully, rolling sections to push on, and legs that need to keep turning without going into the red. Walkers also have their own dedicated course: 4.4 km with 179 metres of elevation gain, starting and finishing in Vigo - the same race atmosphere, a more sustainable pace, and the same spectacular Dolomite backdrop.
If you can't join the entire week of racing, you can choose your own challenge and take part in a single stage, registering directly at the start.
