Castel Noarna
A medieval fortress immersed in the vineyards of Vallagarina that today houses a renowned winery, famous for its wines.
A powerful keep, solid walls with Guelph battlements and a watchtower that served to control the bridge: Castel Noarna is an excellent example of a medieval castle. Its military appearance is attributable to the Castelnuovo family, who dominated Vallagarina from there in the 12th century. During the Renaissance, ownership passed to the Lodron family, who transformed the castle into a lordly residence, with the construction of new residential areas, the frescoes on the main staircase and those in the winter garden. In the 17th century, the castle recorded a dark page in its history, with a witchcraft trial leading to several local women being condemned to the fire. Today, the castle houses a renowned winery, whose cellar produces around 35,000 bottles annually.
