Palazzo Firmian
A masterpiece of the late Baroque frescoed by the great Austrian painter Paul Troger, testimony to the high cultural and artistic level matured by the nobility of the area.
Palazzo Firmian, a noble eighteenth-century residence overlooking the central Piazza della Chiesa, now the prestigious seat of the Municipality of Mezzocorona, is one of the best examples of the fresco works of the Austrian painter Paul Troger (1698-1762): a masterpiece of the late Baroque, where mythology and art come together to make the Firmian family great. Home since the Middle Ages to the jurisdiction of Mezzocorona, it was restored following the purchase, in 1985, by the Municipality. The paintings are attributable to the artist's first period of activity and attest to a direct contact with Venetian painting. A discovery of great value, which testifies to the high cultural and artistic level matured by the nobility of the area, in particular by the Firmian family.
