Pieve di Tavodo
Tavodo is the seat of the Pieve del Banale (the parish church of Banale)
The church is mentioned from 1161 and preserves early Christian and medieval elements and structures. The building’s walls are made of bare stone, following the Romanesque style, and they were built in the Baroque era. The unaisled church, featuring side altars, is accessed through an important 16th century portal, while the Baroque altar in marble dates back to 1766.
The church has a high bell tower, embellished with mullioned windows and a clock of a later period; it also features an organ crafted by Damiano Damiani dating back to 1831.
It is always open.
