The "Museo del Moleta" in Cinte Tesino is a permanent exhibition that traces the history of one of the trades most practiced in the past by the inhabitants of Cinte Tesino, the "moleta", that is, the one who sharpened the tools with the grinding wheel.
Ticino Valley has always stood out as a land of travellers. In particular, from Cinte Tesino, many "moleta" pedestrians travelled the streets of central-northern Italy, offering their rounding services with their "mole a carretino", especially in Tuscany, but also in Lazio, Campania and even Sardinia.
OPENING
The museum will be open from July 7 to September 11, 2026, on Tuesdays and Fridays, with the following schedule:
- Tuesday (16:00 - 18:30): Discover the Moleta Museum with guided tours, engaging explanations and the screening of an exciting film on the ancient art of Moleta.
- Friday (16:00 - 18:30): Guided tour of the museum followed by a live demonstration: a real Moleta will show visitors all the secrets of its ancient craft.
