This power plant was built in the 1920s to a design by Giancarlo Maroni, who was the architect of Gabriele D’Annunzio’s Vittoriale degli Italiani hillside estate. It is a delightful piece of architecture and engineering where you can find out how water is transformed into clean energy on an enthralling interactive, multimedia route that is suitable for all.
As well as seeing the plant in action, visitors can learn about the history and evolution of hydroelectric power thanks to multimedia videos and illustrative panels. Do not miss “L’Officina dell’Energia” (The Energy Workshop), where young and old alike can have fun and experiment as they strive to produce energy.
