The Cascata del Lupo Path
One of the classic walks in the district of Bedollo
You are probably wondering why the waterfall has this name [the Wolf’s Waterfall]. Let us tell you! According to tradition, a long time ago near the waterfall, created by the waters of Rio Regnana, a big wolf that lived in the area died there. Today, the Cascata del Lupo offers the right excuse to wear your hiking boots and set out on a beautiful walk through nature.
HOW TO GET THERE
One of the routes is the one that starts from the small town of Piazze di Bedollo, on Altopiano di Piné, about half an hour from Trento by car. From here you begin the walk in the ravine, among stone steps and moss-covered rocks. After a thirty-minute walk, being careful of the slippery rocks, you arrive in front of the Wolf’s Waterfall, 36 metres high!
If you are in good shape, we suggest taking advantage of your position to extend your excursion (by almost two hours) along the route that leads to the Segonzano Earth Pyramids, spectacular rock pinnacles carved by nature.
