Coming from the north, from the borders with South Tyrol, the first 'Bicigrill' is found at Cadino. Then, after a few kilometers, you reach San Michele all’Adige, a treasure chest of rural life with the precious Museum of Traditions and Customs of the Trentino People.
From San Michele all’Adige, a branch also departs towards the Piana Rotaliana, which leads into the centers of Mezzolombardo and Mezzocorona along a loop route, crossing areas dedicated to the cultivation of the traditional grape variety of the Piana Rotaliana and producing a precious wine: Teroldego DOC.
Continuing along the main road, after passing Lavis, you reach the city of Trento. Above and to the right, the Battisti Mausoleum is a stern guardian for a city which, with its monuments and museums - including the MUSE and the Buonconsiglio Castle - tells a story of centuries.
Continuing south, after the Bicigrill in Trento, you leave the city suburbs and find the countryside at the bottom of the valley. After 8 km, you arrive at the village of Besenello, at the foot of the hill on which Castel Beseno stands: this is the largest medieval fortress in the region and a kind of guardian of the Adige. The castle often hosts museum exhibitions and, in summer, spectacular historical reenactments take place.
A few kilometers further south, you reach the Bicigrill of Nomi, a rest stop for cyclists with a bar, information point, fountain and restrooms. From here, you continue towards Rovereto, the second largest city in Trentino, rich in museums, with a charming historic center. The cycle path passes through the Borgo Sacco district, once an important river port on the Adige.
Continuing, you reach Mori where, at the 60th kilometer, on the right side of the Montedison Canal, another cycle path branches off that crosses the city of Mori and leads to Lake Garda (13 km). But if you continue along the Adige River, at the bottom of the Vallagarina, you reach the villages of Chizzola di Ala and Pilcante. Then you pass through the village of Vò Destro, a hamlet of Ala, with the skyline dominated by the Sabbionara d’Avio Castle, which deserves a visit.
Finally, you arrive at the small village of Borghetto, where the Adige Valley cycle/pedestrian path ends, at the point marking the border with the Province of Verona.
