As you can imagine, the accessibility of routes in a mountain environment is strictly linked to current conditions and therefore depends on natural phenomena, environmental changes, and weather conditions. For this reason, the information contained in this sheet may have changed. Before setting out, check the status of the route by contacting the managers of the refuges on your path, mountain guides, visitor centers of natural parks, and tourist offices.Roadbook
After about an hour of walking, you will encounter a forest road that climbs steeply to the right. Take this one and continue, now ascending steadily, along trail no. 26 towards “Sam Alm - Hofmahd”. The route gradually gains altitude, leaving the forest, and you will encounter numerous huts in typical South Tyrolean style, completely immersed in the woods or spread out in clearings. At the top of the route lies the last hut, the so-called “Bait dal Bociacia”: an old wooden and masonry building now reduced to ruins wrapped in an aura of mystery.
From here continue to the right until you reach a large green clearing crossed by a flat path leading to the right. Take this path and shortly descend to meet the wide forest road leading to the Brez mountain hut. Without needing to climb up to the hut, the route closes by following the entire forest road downhill until you return to the Brez Pass.
