Musil en Bersntol - Palù del Fersina
A cultural trail dedicated to the Austrian writer Robert Musil, taking visitors on a journey of discovery through the places in Palù del Fersina associated with his time in the Valle dei Mòcheni and his novel "Novella Grigia".
The Musil Literary Trail is a cultural route that offers an insight into the connection between the Austrian writer Robert Musil and the Mòcheni Valley.
In 1915, Musil stayed for around three months in Palù del Fersina as a lieutenant in the Austro-Hungarian army. During his stay, he recorded observations, impressions and notes in his diaries which, reworked in subsequent years, inspired the novella *Grigia*, one of his best-known works set in this very area.

The route winds through the village of Palù del Fersina and takes in real places described by the author or documented in photographs from the period. Alongside the historical dimension, the route also invites visitors to discover the symbolic and inner places evoked by Musil, creating a dialogue between landscape, memory and literature.

The route is approximately 3.6 km long, with an elevation gain of 145 metres and an average walking time of one and a half hours. It is an experience suited to those wishing to explore the cultural history of the Mòcheni Valley through the eyes of one of the most important authors of 20th-century European literature.
