That’s something the cyclists who participated in the time trial of the Giro d’Italia in 2013 know very well. Vincenzo Nibali set the fastest time and ended up winning the Giro. It's a climb that should be divided into two stages. The first of 9 kilometres leads to Brentonico. The slopes are not too steep and range from 6 to 8%. But you need to be careful not to burn up too much energy. Arrived in town the road continues for about 4 kilometres with borderline stretches: short descents and then sudden jolts. At the entrance of the hamlet of Prada you start to climb again. It's the hardest stretch, with slopes that after 3 kilometers become really challenging (the climb here reaches 10%). The final stretch too, is no joke: the road leaves no room for breaks, despite a few hairpin turns allowing you to catch your breath. The effort ends at Polsa, a site on Monte Baldo that in winter becomes a pleasant ski resort. From here too, itineraries are available for tourists to discover the Austro-Hungarian fortifications, remnants of the Great War along the southernmost border of the Danubian Empire.
