San Martino and the Sentiero del Bosco Scolpito trail (Sculpted Woodland Trail)
<p>An easy route with many natural sights, embellished by wooden artworks that blend harmoniously into the landscape.</p>
<p>The route starts from the parking lot near the information office, in the foothills of Cologna. It is a simple trek, with a gentle uphill stretch (250 m altitude difference) followed by a downhill section. Although suitable for everyone, it requires some level of attention after the Church of San Martino, where the trail becomes steep and narrow for a stretch.The route tenders to many different interests: pure nature, wooden sculptures featuring and fantastic creatures made by local artists, especially in the clearing with a carved fountain, and picnic areas. The route ends at the ruins of the small Church of San Martino, from where you can enjoy magnificent views of the mountains, the Valle del Chiese and Castel Romano, perched on the opposite hill.</p>
