SAT / E222 - The equipped trail of Tomazol

Panoramic trail, equipped with hand ropes and steps in the most exposed points, which crosses the panoramic rocky ridge of Tamazòl and leads up to the summit of Monte Cimone. It is recommended to combine it with the SAT trail 225.

From Col delle Albarèle, reachable via SAT trail 219 in about half an hour, from the Pineta di Caldonazzo locality, we climb through the mixed forest covering the ridge along which the route develops, gaining altitude by making numerous tight switchbacks. At an altitude of 1020 meters, we encounter the first equipment and via a complex and panoramic route we overcome a steep ledge that allows us to pass a challenging rock jump and reach the meadow at the top of Monte Tamazòl. After admiring the splendid view over the Upper Valsugana, we return to the forest and shortly reach the intersection with the Peace Trail. At this point, we turn right and continue with an easy climb, staying at the edge of a cliff that drops into the deep Val Scura. At 1200 m altitude, we leave the "SdP" which continues towards Casare and Virti and take the path on the left that climbs the steep forest and leads to a forest road that we must follow to the right, with a slight ascent, until reaching the wide clearing of Pra del Kempel. We turn left and enter a spruce forest until we reach the large iron cross erected in the forest at the summit of Monte Cimone. Here also converge the SAT paths 220 and 225. The panoramic point is reachable in five minutes by following the appropriate signs.
