The Palù Farmsteads' Ring
A short circular walk exploring the historic farmsteads of Palù del Fersina/Palai en Bersntol, amongst meadows, woods and ancient rural settlements in the Valle dei Mòcheni.
The Palù Farmsteads Loop is an easy walk that allows you to immerse yourself in the characteristic rural landscape of Palù del Fersina/Palai en Bersntol.

The route stretches for around 4.5 km through a landscape shaped over the centuries by the presence of farmsteads – typical Alpine settlements that sprang up during the medieval colonisation of the valley between the 13th and 14th centuries. Starting from the car park at Paoar, the route leads to the Lenzi Mill, an important testament to the local farming culture.

You then pass through the small hamlets of Tolleri-Jerger and Battisti-Batister, where the farmsteads are harmoniously scattered amongst meadows and woods. After passing the road to Frotten-Vròttn, the route runs alongside other historic buildings and reaches the Unterstol Ranch, set in an open landscape characterised by cultivated fields and meadows.

The climb towards Frotten-Vròttn then leads past the Tassaineri-Tazainer and Plunebe farmsteads, until it reaches the hamlet of Fikareim. From here, a path gradually leads back to the starting point, completing a circular route that offers fascinating glimpses of the valley’s historical, cultural and scenic heritage.
