Tips and suggestions
Before going to Lake Tovel, it is necessary to check whether parking requires a reservation or not.
Roadbook
Once you have parked the car, return to the paved road near the Adamello - Brenta Park information center.
Proceed to the barrier on the road. Just before a small bridge, turn left; here a sign announces the start of the path we follow: "Lake Route."
Leave the road and continue along the small Tresenica stream, staying to the left.
Upon reaching the lake, turn right, cross the bridge and you can get a first glimpse of the lake in this enchanting basin.
Follow a short uphill stretch and return to the road near the Miralago hotel.
Turn left again and walk along the long forest road that leads to the Park visitor center. A visit is a must (free entry). The path moves away from the lake and stays a little above the water within the forest. Numerous small paths allow you to descend to the shore.
From the visitor center (just below there is a lovely small beach with inviting lawn, benches, and tables), continue initially downhill and then on flat ground.
The path continues winding along the lakeshore a few meters from the water. Numerous private boats are present along this stretch of shore, and on the right side you can admire characteristic alpine huts.
At the end of the road, near an information board, continue following a wide and flat path that on the opposite shore from the arrival side allows you to pass by the beautiful beaches that slope gently into the clear water.
Continue until reaching a large gravel deposit, dropped into the lake by one of the streams that feed it. Here the easy path ends and you must return to the car retracing the route taken so far.
From here it is possible to make a short trip to the Rislà waterfall, about 10 minutes, then return to the starting point or continue along the East shore on a more difficult but well-equipped path with cables and wooden handrail (this route is marked by the Adamello-Brenta Park as "dangerous path"). The choice to take it or not is yours. The path overcomes some rock ledges overlooking the lake and allows you to return faster to the starting point.
