Trekking of the Thinking Christ

<p>Route of historical, naturalistic, and panoramic interest, with moderate physical exertion and medium technical difficulty</p>

<p>The trekking starts at Passo Rolle. From the pass, you ascend in the direction of Baita Segantini (it is possible to climb either via a comfortable dirt road or the adjacent path, which is slightly steeper but more direct). Once you arrive at Baita Segantini, follow the signs for the &#34;Trekking of the Thinking Christ,&#34; which can be done either counterclockwise or clockwise. The walk to reach the statue of the Thinking Christ on the summit of Monte Castellazzo is not particularly demanding physically and allows you to go through an area of historical-cultural interest, with tunnels and walkways from the First World War. Attention must be paid when crossing exposed sections and on the summit, where the available space is limited, especially in the months of the year (July-August) when the trekking is particularly busy. From the summit of Monte Castellazzo, you enjoy an exceptional view of the entire north face of the Pale di San Martino, from Mulaz to Cimon della Pala. </p> <p>To complete the loop and return to Passo Rolle, allow about 1 hour and 30 minutes of walking. </p> <p>The Trekking of the Thinking Christ can be done from late spring to early autumn. From late May to October, signs and protection measures installed by the Paneveggio Pale di San Martino Park are present along the route. Hikers are advised to follow the instructions on the signs and not to leave the marked trail.
