ACTIVITY DESCRIPTION:
An evening dedicated to a visit to the Celado Astronomical Observatory, featuring a tour of the facility, telescope observations and film screenings. We will observe the most spectacular celestial bodies visible on the night (the Moon and planets, open and globular star clusters, nebulae and galaxies).
ACTIVITY PRICE:
€ 8 adults
€ 5 reduced rate 6–17 years
Free for children under 5
Payment in cash at the observatory on the evening of the visit
NOTES:
- Meet at the Celado Astronomical Observatory (Castello Tesino), a quarter of an hour before the tour begins
- Booking is compulsory by 12 noon on the day of the activity at APT Castello Tesino
- In the event of cloudy weather, the tour will be limited to watching films and presentations in the lecture theatre, as well as a tour of the facility
- On request, the activity can be conducted in English for groups
- Meeting point: Celado Astronomical Observatory – Celado Plateau (7.8 km from Castello Tesino)
- The observation session will take place with a minimum of 10 and a maximum of 20 participants
- Pets are not permitted
Please note: the observatory is situated at 1,300 metres above sea level; temperatures on winter nights can be very cold. Appropriate clothing is recommended. The classroom and control room are heated, but the rest of the building is not; in particular, inside the dome, where the telescope is located, it is like being outdoors.
