Drago Vaia Trail 2026

 THE DRAGON HAS RETURNED: ON OCTOBER 18TH, ALPE CIMBRA HOSTS THE 4TH EDITION OF THE DRAGO VAIA TRAIL

The program starts as early as Saturday, October 17th at 3:00 p.m. with “Waiting for the Drago Vaia”, a free guided walk of 5 km starting from Gionghi and ending at Drago Vaia.
An initiative open to all, designed to discover the territory of Alpe Cimbra and get to know the great sculpture of Martalar up close on the eve of the race.

A weekend dedicated to sports, nature, and discovering Alpe Cimbra, with Drago Vaia as the protagonist.

Sunday, October 18th, 2026 Everything is ready in Lavarone for the fourth edition of the Drago Vaia Trail. An event that combines sports, nature, and the territory, which will lead participants to run in the heart of the forests of Alpe Cimbra, along paths and mule tracks to the famous Drago Vaia di Martalar.

Made with about 6 tons of charred wood, the Drago Vaia is 16 meters long, 7 meters high, and made up of over 3,000 roots from trees knocked down by the Vaia storm. A work that has become over time one of the most recognizable symbols of the territory.

THREE ROUTES TO EXPERIENCE THE DRAGO

Participants can choose from three different options:

Trail 20K – 20 km | D+ 725 m
A predominantly dirt course along paths and mule tracks, also available in a non-competitive format.

Trail 12K – 12 km | D+ 450 m
A more accessible distance, also available in a non-competitive format.

Drago Vaia Walk 5K – 5 km | D+ 190 m
A walk designed for those who want to experience the atmosphere of the event without tackling competitive distances.

All routes start and finish at Gionghi di Lavarone.

ATTENTION! PROMOTION UNTIL AUGUST 15TH

You have time until August 15th to take advantage of the special promotion: by registering on the Sport Dolomiti portal and using the code VACA MORA, you get 5 € discount on the registration fee.

REGISTRATION FEES

20K:
€ 25 until September 30th
€ 30 from October 1st to 18th

12K:
€ 20 until September 30th
€ 25 from October 1st to 18th

Walk 5K:
€ 5 for walk only
€ 10 for walk + Pasta Party

For those registered for the 20K and 12K, the fee includes a bib with timing chip, Drago Vaia gadget for the first 500 registrants, bag storage, showers and changing rooms, medical assistance, three refreshment points, final refreshment, and Pasta Party.

At the end of the 12K and 20K races, the first three men and the first three women overall and in their categories will be awarded.
