Festivalmeteorologia
TIME IN TIME - Weather, climate and history
A unique national experience that presents meteorology in a way that is accessible to everyone, while maintaining the necessary scientific rigor.
Now in its 12th edition, Festivalmeteorologia offers a meeting opportunity for all the diverse stakeholders in the sector, from meteorological services, professionals, and businesses to the research community, universities, schools, and amateur weather associations. Schools can book workshops, hands, on experiences, and interactive lessons with experts from all over Italy, coordinated by the Rovereto Civic Museum Foundation.
The initiative is promoted and supported by the Associazione Italiana di Scienze dell’Atmosfera e Meteorologia (AISAM), the University of Trento, the Municipality of Rovereto, and the Fondazione Museo Civico di Rovereto.
During Festivalmeteorologia, meteorology and climatology organizations and experts from across Italy offer educational and outreach activities for young people of all ages. These meetings and workshops will introduce children and teenagers to meteorology and climatology, seeking to stimulate the growth of critical thinking during a period of uncertainty and change for our planet.
The 2026 edition will be dedicated to the theme “Weather, climate and history“: a journey to explore how meteorology became a modern science and how atmospheric and climatic events have influenced decisive turning points in human history. Alongside meetings with researchers, experts, and institutions, the AISAM Students’ Conference will return, a space of growing importance within the Festival, designed to highlight the contribution of new generations to meteorological research, outreach, and communication.
