RAM film festival

Sguardi sulle città

The RAM film festival is returning to Rovereto, an event that explores archaeology and cultural heritage through cinema.

Since 1990, the Fondazione Museo Civico has organized a Film Festival, which has been named RAM – Rovereto Archaeology Memory since 2021.

From October 7 to 11, the RAM Film Festival returns to Rovereto as the international event dedicated to cultural heritage, featuring five days of screenings, meetings, exhibitions, guided tours, and activities to discover the local area through the language of cinema.

A rich selection of documentaries from around the world will guide the audience in discovering the beauty and fragility of cultural heritage. The screenings are divided into four thematic sections: Archaeological Cinema, Animated Culture, History and Memory, and Traditions and Cultures, alongside the OFF section, dedicated to experimental films and immersive fulldome documentaries at the Museum’s Planetarium.

The theme of the 2026 edition, “Sguardi sulle città“, invites viewers to observe urban spaces as living and complex organisms, where archaeology, memory, and contemporaneity intertwine. Cities become archives in continuous transformation, capable of telling stories, knowledge, and practices to be preserved and reinterpreted for the future. Through documentary cinema, the Festival reflects on how the heritage of the past can offer tools to imagine more sustainable, inclusive, and conscious cities.

Alongside cities, the RAM Film Festival takes the audience on a journey among archaeological sites, monuments, and great civilizations of the world, from Egypt to Greece and Rome, up to Africa, Asia, the Americas, and Oceania, to rediscover the cultural roots that unite peoples and territories.

The RAM film festival is organized by the Fondazione Museo Civico di Rovereto, with the support of the Municipality of Rovereto, the Autonomous Province of Trento, Fondazione Caritro, Cassa Rurale AltoGarda – Rovereto, in collaboration with the Rovereto, Vallagarina and Monte Baldo Tourist Board.
