Madonna di Campiglio, Pinzolo, Val Rendena

Madonna di Campiglio is renowned for being one of the trendiest ski resort across the Italian Alps, located at one end of the Val Rendena dotted with quaint villages and thousand-year-old woodland. As far as scenery goes, it doesn’t get better than this, spanning from the Brenta Dolimites, Unesco Heritage Site, to the Adamello and Presanella groups.

Moving around the valley, between the different ski resorts, is easy and fast. For example, the Pinzolo-Campiglio Express cable car - a suspended gallery on Parco Naturale Adamello Brenta - connects Madonna di Campiglio and Pinzolo in just 16 minutes.

The whole ski area, known as Campiglio Dolomiti di Brenta, is the largest in Trentino: 156 km of lift-linked slopes, modern and fast lift systems, programmed snow-making machines that can cover almost 95% of the entire skiing terrain, plus spectacular runs renowned all over the world. Like the legendary Canalone Miramonti, arena of the 3Tre Ski World Cup, and the Dolomitica, the longest and steepest ski run in the area.

Undeniable paradise also for snowboarding, the resort excels for snowparks and structures for all types of skiers, like the Ursus Snowpark in Madonna di Campiglio on the Grostè and, for beginners, the Mini Park, in Predalago, and the Brenta Park in Pinzolo.

If you wish to brush up your skills or learn your first steps on skis or snowboard, there are several ski schools with qualified instructors specialized in downhill, snowboarding or Nordic skiing: 10 in Campiglio and 3 in Pinzolo.

In both locations, you can make the most of your snow holiday off the slopes by joining snowshoeing tours and alpine skiing excursions.

If you need a break from the slopes, the local alpine guides are very active in organising walking excursions for the whole family that make for an unforgettable experience. A big crowd-puller is the newly added 3km-long sledging track that stretches down the Spinale, one of the most idyllic corners in the area.

If you are passionate about Nordic skiing, you will find here a large network of trails to explore the most untouched corners of the nature park. The Campo Carlo Magno Nordic skiing centre offers over 22km of trails and the Pinzolo-Carisolo Centre, that stretches along the picturesque Sarca valley, maintains a 5km trail with programmed snow-making machines and floodlights for night-time skiing.

Lovers of ice skating can choose between a natural frozen lake near Madonna di Campiglio or the indoor Olympic ice rink in Pinzolo.

In the Madonna di Campiglio-Pradalago resort, the black “Amazzonia” slope will be extended, while over in the Spinale area, the “Spinale Diretta” piste will be widened.

Additionally, in Pinzolo the new Fossadei-Malga Cioca chairlift will be opened, a six-seater facility with automatic coupling which will help increase the hourly carrying capacity from 700 to 1800 passengers and reduce travel time to just 3 minutes.
