The Paneveggio-Pale di San Martino Nature Park is one of the areas in Trentino with the largest concentration of ungulates.

The ‘Ascolta il bramito del cervo’ (Listen for the bellowing of the deer) excursions organized by the Park are back in autumn 2022. A thrilling experience that, with a bit of luck, will have you discretely observe the deer clashing their horns. The excursions take place at dawn or at sunset guided by the Park’s wildlife experts. Observe the movements of ungulates and other animals at nigh-time thanks to special infra-red thermographic cameras. From 24 September to 8 October.

Experiences in the Stelvio National Park

Together with the Paneveggio-Pale di San Martino Nature Park, the section of the Stelvio National Park located in Trentino is home to the area’s largest number of ungulates.

Listen for the mysterious calls of the deer in the forests and meadows of Val di Peio and Val di Rabbi. The woods and surrounding areas act like a huge sound box amplifying the bellowing of the lord of the woods aimed at attracting the females and warning potential rivals that might infiltrate into its harem. ‘Il bramito del cervo’ (The bellowing of the deer) excursions in the Stelvio National Park take place in the evening or in the morning- From 23 September to 9 October.
