Trentino for Everyone: Skiing and Disabilities

Accessible slopes, qualified instructors and inclusive services

A long sport and supportive tradition lives on in the Trentino valleys. Indeed, in Trentino, two important volunteer associations have been working hard to support everyone’s desire to experience all that nature has to offer, as well as to promote social integration and improve self-esteem. It is not a question of meeting a market made up of numbers, but of helping and supporting anyone.

For this reason, for many years, Trentino has been offering countless services designed for people with disabilities and their caretakers: a heartfelt invitation to discover the snow and all the activities it allows us to do. These are highly personalised offers, with an approach based on the individual, to enhance the potential of every guests.

The Trentino ski areas offer an extraordinary setting that is accessible to all: those with mobility challenges or special needs can practice sports and experience the snow in its many facets, thanks to dedicated services, qualified instructors, special tools and much more.

The ski instructors are trained to accompany people with disabilities to the discovery of alpine skiing, Nordic skiing, snowboarding and other activities. Numerous facilities allow you to rent special adaptive aids, including monoskis, dualskis, bass boards and other equipment.

Val di Fiemme

In the Val di Fiemme, the slopes at Lusia-Bellamonte have become an adaptive-skiing hotspot – thanks to the “SportAbili” association. Here, you’ll find specialized instructors and expert volunteers ready to launch your skiing career on a range of ski equipment, as well as modified lifts to smooth your path up the mountain.

Val di Fassa

The SportAbili non-profit organisation delivers downhill, cross-country and snowboard courses and guided excursions to neighboring villages. The Alochet Cross-Country Centre, at the San Pellegrino Pass, is ideal to train in cross-country skiing.

Alpe Cimbra

In the Passo Coe area above Folgaria the “Scie di Passione” centre offers a wide range of ski equipment, including mono and dual skis, stabilizers and Bluetooth systems for visually-impaired skiers. A team of instructors is on hand to provide assistance and training, and you’ll find hotels and mountain huts with disabled bathrooms.

Dolomiti Paganella

The Italian Ski School Dolomiti of Brenta di Andalo organises courses for children, teenagers and adults with disabilities. The Skipass is offered at a discounted rate for people with disabilities.
