Charlie Cinelli
Great rock ‘n’ roll and American country music at "La Grenz" in Moena
Giancarlo Cinelli (1958), a musician from Brescia born in Valtrompia, soon discovered his passion for the guitar, moving from Pooh and Battisti to Led Zeppelin. After starting out in a barber's shop and with the first bands in his village, he studied double bass at the conservatory, played with Iva Zanicchi and then travelled around Europe, living for years between London and Cornwall and playing in bands of all kinds. Back in Italy, he worked as a session player for Rai, Mediaset and artists such as Vanoni, Mina, Zucchero and Cocciante, and founded Charlie & the Cats, an original mix of dialect and rock. A guitarist, bassist and songwriter, in 1998 he released his first solo album, Törölölö, and continues to range between folk, rock and jazz, bringing his unique, ironic style, deeply rooted in his origins, to the stage.
Line-up: Charlie Cinelli (vocals and guitar), Franco Testa (electric bass), Enrico Tommasini (drums).
