PETER KARP BAND - Dolomiti Ski Jazz
Concert on the slopes of the Peter Karb Band, which will create an original mix of sounds defined as 'Americana-Blues-Rock with Soul influences'.
From Nashville USA, singer-songwriter, guitarist, pianist and band leader. Karp's style moves between the fiery genres of roots/blues music, resulting in an original mix of sounds that he calls ‘Americana-Blues-Rock with Soul influences’. Critics go so far as to compare him to John Hiatt and John Prine, influenced by his love for the music of Freddie King and Elmore James. He captured national attention with the help of guitarist Mick Taylor (Rolling Stone) with whom he recorded and toured ‘The Turning Point’, but further established himself as a composer and excellent musician with the release of his Blind Pig debut album entitled ‘Shadows and Cracks’.
The band consists of Peter Karb (vocals, electrified dobro, acoustic guitar, harmonica), MARK JOHNSON on electric guitar, MARCO XERES on electric bass and PAOLO XERES on drums.
Guitarist Mark Johnson lives in Atlanta, Georgia, in the deep south of the USA and has made a name for himself as co-founder and lead guitarist for the acclaimed band ‘Delta Moon’. He was the protagonist over the years of great recording successes and intense international activity. After the death of singer Tom Gray in 2021, Mark began collaborating with singer-songwriter Peter Karp. Mark's style is based on traditional blues and American roots music with a strong emphasis on slide guitar, perfect for Karp's music.
The Xeres brothers' rhythm section has been active on the music scene for more than twenty years and now boasts a long list of collaborations with national and international blues artists. Having grown up in close contact with blues musicians from England and the USA, they were able to absorb the sound and language of American music from an early age.
